Does anyone know how can I train my five month dog to poop and pee on the pad?

Question by : Does anyone know how can I train my five month dog to poop and pee on the pad?
Whenever I leave the house I have to leave her in the restroom and sometimes when I come back she has already poop and pee everywhere but where I leave the pad. Instead she starts chewing them. When I’m home she lets me know to let her go to the patio and she goes to pee and poo there.

A pad/newspaper in the house teaches your dog to poo/pee in the house. Do you really want that?

Don’t. Training a dog that it’s okay to eliminate indoors in a special approved spot requires the same effort as properly housebreaking them and is very confusing for the dog. Crate training is the easiest and most effective way of properly housebreaking your dog, as well as providing them a safe place until they can be trusted completely from themselves and the risks associated with teething – which isn’t until after 6 months old for most breeds anyway.)

Once your dog is fully housebroken and trustworthy you can think about installing a doggie door for her if you prefer. (It’s not my preference since I don’t allow my pets to be outside if no one is there to keep an eye on their safety, but other people like them.)

Crate train her. Toss the potty pads. She needs to go out to potty every 2 hours.

It will take a weekend of your time but, it’s well worth it….I trained my dog to go potty on the pad. I bought a box of potty pads and laid them out all over the floor. When my dog would go potty on one, I would tap the pad with my hand and I’d tell him what a good boy he was. I’d say ” Did you go potty on the pad?” I’d clap my hands and make a huge deal out of it and give him a treat. I use beggin strips and break them up into several pieces so my dog doesn’t get too many treats. If he went’ potty on the carpet, I would in a gentle voice tell him ” You went potty on the floor. Bad boy” I would tap on the floor so he would understand what the floor meant. When he went on the pad, I would praise the heck out of him and give him a treat. I then picked up a couple of pads, re-folded them and put them back in the box. I would continue this process until there was only one pad left. He used it and I then placed a pad where I wanted him to go. I showed him where it was and he’s never missed the pad in 14 years. It takes a little time. It took me the better part of a weekend but, it was well worth it. Once they get it. They get it.
