V8 Fusion + Energy Video Contest Entry – 32 second version
I entered a contest online and I lost. Yes, don’t be surprised, I lost. I’m getting used to it. Each contest I enter, I get better at it. One of these times… Thanks to Valeria Davidson for filming it, and to Steve Richardson for letting me use his computer to complete it. We had a ‘location’ problem, in that Chicago SUCKS for good shred locations in the winter. It is great in Spring, Summer and Fall, but winter sucks here. We had a long weekend, so my family escaped to Wisconsin and got a room at LaQuinta Madison and got some time on Monday morning to film in private, in the side room to the pool. Then, I got the footage into Steve’s computer and spent many hours editing. The best part about these movie contests is that I get to spend time with my family and friends creating things. That was great! Music was made in Garageband on the ipad, and customized to time with the movie storyboard. I had spent a ton of time on a 1 minute version, that included having the can of V8 charge my tablet-like device, it was maddening and looked ridiculous and I scrapped it all. I made a slightly longer version of this one which is also on youtube now. Version 1 of 2 Video Rating: 0 / 5

Question by Ignoramus: How do I get songs onto my I-pod from a second computer? My I-pod is linked to my laptop. I’ve purchased some songs on my desktop, but can’t figure out how to transfer them to my Ipod without erasing the entire I-pod library and replacing it with songs only from the desktop.
Thanks in advance.

Question by Daughter J: What is the difference between an i-pod touch second generation and the third generation? I want to get an i-pod touch and I was going to get a second generation 8gb, but I checked on walmart.com and apparently now they have a third generation. So I want to know what the difference is between the second and third generation. Thanks!
Best answer:
Answer by NONEIn the 8GB the major difference is the price. You can probably get the 3rd generation for less than the 2nd generation, even after a price cut on the 2nd.

According to research firm ComScore’s latest report, Apple has reached the #2 spot on the list of most popular mobile phone makers, taking the slot previously held by LG. iPhone users now account for 17.8% of the U.S. mobile market, while LG tags close behind at 17.6%. Samsung still leads all other manufacturers with 26.3% market share, up from 25.6% just three months prior.
Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S III are likely the two biggest factors in both company’s recent gains. Motorola and HTC both rank below LG on the list, accounting for 11% and 6.4% of the market, respectively.

Apple seeds second OS X 10.8.2 build in three days, hints at imminent release
Three days after Apple pushed out build 12C50 of OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion to developers, the company has seeded an updated version, possibly hinting that a public release is imminent.
In a tweet on Thursday, T-Mobile revealed that it will be carrying iPhone 5-compatible nano-SIM cards for use on its network in mid-October, giving subscribers access to Apple’s latest handset.

Another stealth tethering app will probably be pulled off the App Store any second…

These things tend not to survive long in the wild, but it’s your $ 2, have fun: audio capture iPhone app DiscoRecorder apparently has a secret, and it’s an Easter egg proxy server.
If you follow a rather rococo set of network config steps (detailed by 9to5Mac), make a recording, and rename it “PearSauce269.aac” (really? OK, sure, why not) then voila! Free tethering, regardless of your iPhone data plan (but that will still use up your data allocation). Note that this will only work from your Mac, not your iPad, as it requires you to create an ad-hoc network to start with.
Given that the discovery of this feature was coincidentally and/or conveniently timed for a Friday evening, when the App Store minders have presumably fixie-biked off into the Cupertino sunset, there’s at least some chance the app will still be on the store in the morning — but needless to say this is not a good long-term plan for tethering.
