Question by Fred Freeze: How does the wireless internet work on a i-pad or tablet? Is it like a cell phone or does it work off of your? Is it like a cell phone or does it work off of your house router/internet? We live out in the country where we can not get cable for internet. I hope I can get an i-pad and use it for my internet needs.

We do have HughesNet satellite for our internet. It is slow. I can watch some short video clips on some internet sites.

Any suggestions……i’m tired of having two computers running while i am waiting for one to download, i view the other one.

Answer by ENXOIt depends if you’re getting solely a WiFi model or a WiFi + Cellular model. WiFi is the wireless Internet connection that powers your computers Internet while cellular data functions exactly how data on phones do. If you have no cell service where you live with whatever company you’re using, you will get no data connection. Which means your Internet will not work. But if you have wifi at your house you can connect to that.
