30/30 app asks you to pay what you want

Well, this is clever! There’s a nifty app called 30/30 that allows you to pay 3 different prices for it. How? All are in-app purchases, but don’t really unlock anything. It’s not a donation, which isn’t allowed, because the developer isn’t a non-profit and you are paying them for the shareware. It’s just a clever way of using the App Store for an honor system.

The app itself is a timer app, used to set timers for activities. Similar to the minutes prescribed in the Pomodoro technique, except 30/30 allows a range of timing. The app is free to download, as the payment is up to you.

Apple store is down, what lies ahead?

The Apple Store is down in the U.S., and most likely around the world as well. With it being a week away from WWDC, we wouldn’t be surprised if Apple did a few quiet bumps to existing product lines to get that excitement out of the way and the focus shifted to even bigger announcements next week. We’ll let you know what’s changed as soon as it’s back up!

What is a good practice pad for beginners to practice on?

Question by b.ball_playa: What is a good practice pad for beginners to practice on? I heard most people would like a pad that gives them more of a realistic feel of the actual drums, but that’s not possible. Do some come close though? I also heard that the material will determine if it sounds like you are drumming on a table or closer to a real drum set. What do you guys recommend? I would like to know which practice pad to buy so I can start learning the basics techniques. I already have a beginners book. I would want to veer away from practice pads that sound like your drumming on a table.

Best answer:

Answer by MeTaLLica ForEvERjust get a electronic drum set. if you were to play the guitar, i dont think there is a cheap thing that lets you practice songs/scales on it except for a actual guitar!

What year should the Mac Mini be for apps programming?

Question by : What year should the Mac Mini be for apps programming? I am trying to learn objective-c to start programming apps for iphone. I have read alot of forums and people recommend the Mac Mini or the Imac. But the Mac Mini should have at least 4gb of ram. Somewhere I read for the Mac Mini to be 2006 or newer. Why? What about the Imac, what year should that be?

Best answer:

Answer by Shawn BSo that you can have the Intel processor. No sense in programming for an obsolete processor. Also, you probably want to be able to upgrade to the latest OSX, which requires the Intel processor.

Edit: I should mention… just for fun I made my own mac. I added a hard disk to my Window 7 computer. Now i can multi-boot the same computer into either Windows, Snow Leopard, or Linux. All I bought was the Snow Leopard box set, and followed “hackintosh” instructions from the internet. It was really hard to do though, and took me three solid days (my entire weekend) to get it working. I would rather have a mac mini, but can’t afford it.

What mac laptop should I get for gaming?

Question by contemnovita: What mac laptop should I get for gaming? I currently have the white macbook but it is very slow when I try to play the sims 3. This is one of the only reasons I use my computer so I feel it is pointless, thus I have decided to upgrade to a new mac. Which Mac would be best for gaming? I am open to any and all ideas (note: I am only considering a mac so don;t just say get a PC). Also if it would be best for me to pay extra for certain features or upgrades please specify. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by JL7In my opinion, Windows PC’s are still the best platform for gaming. I have been a mac fan for many years and have owned 3 macs and still own 2 of them. I find that if I want to play game, it is better to install windows using bootcamp and play game on Windows. The performance is just better.
